This project combines the introduction of some new features with editing existing elements to create a garden with completely new look and feel.
A large expanse of poorly drained concrete marred the key views from the house and disrupted the flow of the garden. Privacy gaps along the boundaries also needed to be addressed.
The design solution creates greater access to the garden from the renovated terrace and pulls the large lawn closer to the house in wide and generous curves. Cedar batten screening increases privacy to the terrace area and feature planters provide a key focal point, added height and interest to a shady corner. Paved paths were added to the sides of the garden to access the water garden and swing seat, negating the need for the narrow central path and pergola structure which split the garden and blocked to the summerhouse beyond.
