A new front entrance porch plus an additional storey to this large Victorian property resulted in significant internal alterations and a requirement to remodel the front garden for aesthetic and access requirements.
The driveway was widened and an area in front of the new porch and lower ground floor window excavated to negate the need for steps. This created the opportunity to level the sloping garden to create a more formal raised front garden.
An organic steel sculpture creates a focal point for the space with wide inviting steps lead through the garden to a stone bench. An evergreen hedge was planted to provide privacy from the adjacent pavement whilst retaining the existing stone front wall. The north facing garden was planted with shade tolerant planting and abundant spring bulbs for an early burst of colour.
